Curious...

I've noticed that my site has had many visits from someone in Virginia, but I don't know who that could be... the next time you stop by, would you mind leaving a comment and letting me know who you are?

I'm just a Very Curious Person!

Servant Events And Mail

About eleven years ago my dad, my brother, and I all went down to Missouri for a servant event at an LCMS camp. We fixed stuff up around the camp (I helped build a patio shade for near the pool and layed concrete!), went swimming and canoing, and generally had a good, exercise-filled week.

Back at my parent’s house on the stateline, we used to get a mailing or two a year from them, addressed to all three of us.

Two years ago, I moved up here, and did not send the camp a change of address- why would I? It’s not like I felt the need to keep updated on something that old…

Today I got in my mail: a newsletter, addressed to me, my daddy, and my brother Old-Last-Name, but at my address.

At first I was just confused.

Then I got mad.

Someone (and I can only assume it’s someone at Triune) gave out my address without permission.

Who does that?

Two Whole Years

It's true.

For two whole years Matt and I have been married. We've had busy times, and we've had some slow days for just sitting around and enjoying each other's company. We made it through my rough job and through his surgery rotation, when we rarely saw each other for more than an hour a day. We've taken care of each other when we've gotten colds, and sat on the couch with cocoa watching Hercules to unwind after long days.

And these years have been wonderful. I wouldn't trade them for anything. Matt is so thoughtful and attentive- so loving and sweet... things that I never thought I'd be lucky enough to find in a husband.

I'm so so happy and content... Going about everyday life is so much more joyful, knowing that, no matter what, I have a husband who loves me waiting for me at home.

These have been the best two years of my life... so far!

Oops...

I did something embarassing today.

I stopped at Target on my way home for cat food and kleenex, and during the (fairly long) transaction that the person in front of me had, I decided to get out my debit card so I'd be ready.

Only to find that I had left my wallet in my gaming bag, and I had no money or ID on me at all.

I can only imagine how badly I blushed as I went to go put both things away and headed out, shamefaced.

(okay, so I was only a little embarassed- mostly I was annoyed at the addition to my day because I forgot)

Wonderful Dreams

I woke up today and was distressed to find out I'd only been dreaming...

I dreamt that I was taking a bite of a beautiful steak- grilled rare, garlic rubbed into the top, dripping wonderful juices all over the plate when I cut into it. The bite I had in my mouth was absolutely wonderful, and just melting from tenderness.

Then I woke up.

Now I want a steak.

Bag Kitties

I just got back from a lovely walk to the grocery store (we needed a couple things, it's gorgeous outside, etc.).

I've been trying to remember to take my tote bags along when I go shopping, because they're much easier to use while walking, plus I have enough plastic bags to clean litter boxes for the next three years!

When I came back in the door, a very distressed Sophie was waiting for me, meowing pitifully at me, distressed over something. I put away the groceries, hung up the bags, and she continued to trot around me, talking and talking, trying to get my attention in a non-picking-up and non-petting way.

Eventually I walked back over near the closet where the bags are kept, and she got even more excited.

Turns out? She just wanted to play in her favorite tote bag (my green Half-Price Books bag), and was A- annoyed that I had taken it with me on the walk and B- irritated that when I brought it back I put it away!

I got it down for her, and she has spent the intervening time sitting happily in her bag, popping her head out every now and again, and bopping Hero on the nose every time she tries to steal the bag.

They're so cute...
